Cozumel Airlines

Included are some of the airlines that fly TO and FROM Cozumel or Cancun from different parts of the world. You will need to check with each carrier to see if they service your departure city. Listed below are the airlines that fly to or from Cozumel, along with their web site link if available and telephone numbers. You can also use many other services to look up airfare, itineraries and compare them, such as Orbitz, Travelocity, Flightcomparison in the UK, Cheap Flights, and Expedia.

When flying in or out of Mexico, whether Cozumel or Cancun, remember to carry your valuables with you onto the plane. This should include any of your dive gear you don't want to be without, like your regulator, dive computer or underwater camera. Then, if for some reason your luggage is delayed or lost, you will still have your valuables and important dive gear.

Based on trip reports here and on other online forums, baggage delay and losses has been reduced dramatically over the years. In most cases, your luggage will arrive with you. Your chances are better of course on a direct flight as opposed to a multi-stop flight.

CANCUN AIRPORT

If you arrive at Cancun International Airport and you need to get to Cozumel, the best way to get to Cozumel is by plane. AEROCARIBE has constant flights during the day flying to and from Cozumel's airport. The average cost for a round trip is $90 USD, and it takes less than 15 minutes to fly down to Cozumel.

The other way to get to Cozumel from Cancun is by land. You need to take a authorized yellow white and black airport taxi to Playa del Carmen and take the Ferry to Cozumel, this will take about 45 minutes. The taxi ride to Playa del Carmen will cost you around $58 USD.

To take one of these authorized taxis, go to any of the TTC kiosks located around the terminal and buy a ticket. The guys at the airport are happy to help you find other people heading to Playa, so that you can share the fare. In Playa del Carmen the Ferry pier is located 2 blocks away from were you will get out of the car or bus from Cancun, and the ferries sail to Cozumel almost every hour.
