Cab/Taxi Fares

The following represent a sample of average taxi fares from downtown Cozumel. These rates are averages based on current information and in no way represent a guarantee of price. Check with your local dive shop / operator, hotel or rental villa for current prices.

The following should be considered:

  • All rates are based on 1-2 people. Additional passengers will be additional. 
  • Although taxi rates are regulated, there may be fluctuation in price. Always ask or negotiate price before getting in the taxi.
  • Taxi van rates are doubled if you request it. You will be charged the price of 2 taxis plus $2 USD. However, If the van is next in a taxi stand and you put no more than 4 passengers, the price is the same as a taxi.
  • Most drivers understand English, however, it is a good idea to know a little Spanish, just in case. Print out the most common phrases here.

Downtown to Chankanaab Park: 70 Pesos - $7 US

Downtown to San Gervaiso: 160 Pesos - $16 US

Downtown to Northern Hotels: 20 - 34 Pesos - $2-$3.50 US

Downtown to Southern Hotels: 22 - 47 Pesos - $2-$5 US

Downtown to Playa Sol: 90 Pesos - $9 US

Downtown to San Francisco Beach: 140 Pesos - $14 US

Downtown to Playa Palancar: 150 Pesos - $9 US

Downtown to Mezcalito's: 90 Pesos - $9 US
